WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, YOU ARE THE LOSERS CAUSE WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, OF THE WORLD. I am a self admitted non-recovering Vinny Mac mark. I see his side of things more often than I should and I've followed his lead for a decade now. He had his chance to gloat now I'm taking mine. In fact I think I'll throw this little collection of thoughts up in the WCW, which is now owned by the WWF, forum.
This is a great day to be an over the top WWF mark. I remember way back in the 1900's taking shit for following my beliefs. It helped me later identify with the WCW marks, oddly enough. They stood by thier promotion through thick and thin. They failed to admit the other promotion was better at all costs. They failed to see the light. So did I.
You see, way back in the late 1900's, the WWF wasn't exactly the internet's baby like it is today. In fact, before the WWF lit the wrestling world on fire with SCSA, Degeneration X, and the screwing of Bret Hart, the internet had a downright disliking for the WWF. They said the gimmicks sucked, I loved 'em. They said the angles weren't creative, I loved 'em. They said UT took too long to get to the ring, I loved that entrance. They said the talent pool was very shallow, I loved it that way. In fact, I consider the mid-90's the greatest era in the WWF. I loved Razor, Diesel, Hitman, and HBK. I couldn't get enough of these guys, especially Michaels. He had this crazy ability to make me mark out while he was wrestling AND cutting promos. I loved when the Kliq ran things. I loved thier cocky attitude. It was very entertaining to me. I also felt like my heart was ripped out when Diesel, Razor, and eventually the Hitman left for Hotlanta. Did I go with them? OHHHHH HELLL NO. Because I am and always will be a Vinny Mac mark.
After they left the WWF fell into a lull, they had nowhere to go with very few established stars. The Undertaker and HBK carried them through this time and I loved every minute of it. The problem was the WWF seemed to be left in ashes and was very close to being run out of business. Like the Pheonix, the WWF rose again out of the flames of despair and set the wrestling world on fire like never before. We were on a Rocket ride to the top of the world, Ma.
This is where the next generation of WWF marks all got on board. This is where the people who have never seen the Undertaker dive over the top rope, get carried away by the druids, or even seen a casket match jumped aboard the fast track to glory. This is when blue chipper turned into the ROCK. This is when the greenwich snob turned into TRIPLE H. This is when the ringmaster became AUSTIN 3:16. This is when Vinny Mac took his competition by the throat and said die motherfucker. We are now experiencing the aftermath of a pissed off VKM. Somebody who will, at every opportunity, throw it in your face that he IS wrestling. To all of those that DON'T believe that VINCE IS GOD, I say: Where's YOUR god now?

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer too much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
