I've had enough!!
I jerked off for 4 months during the off season believing that the Phillies would be playoff/World Series contenders this year. I even planned my vacation around October this year. I told people that this was their year, and that I would be watching baseball in October in Philadelphia for the first time in 14 years. 14 FUCKING YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here it is, April 14th and the Phillies are all but mathematically eliminated. Fuck you Bill Giles, fuck you "Stand" Pat Gillick and a big fuck you to the team that is showing no fucking heart and did not come ready to play in April, despite the theme of "getting off to a hot start this April" mantra in spring training. Oh and fuck you to Uncle Choolie and his don't worry about the slow start attitude.
As I look to September and the start of football, I see that
"Miami's best QB since Dan Marino" Dante Culpepper is having yet another surgery to repair his knee and will be out an additional 4-6 months. It's a shame there isn't a surgery to correct the front office's intelligence or a players heart when it comes the will to play hard.
I did not expect much of the Flyers this year, but they really shit the bed this year. Worst record and still can't get the first over all pick. And people have the nerve to say Philly isn't cursed.
Basketball is dying sport, but I would still like a team that I could root for in the playoffs. I actually like the Sixers make up without Iverson, but I still think this team is years away.
So here is the jist of it. I give up. I quit. I am tapping out like a little bitch. I am jumping ship to new teams and better horizons. I am currently in search of 4 new teams to cheer for and give my heart to. I was a faithful fan for 37 years, and although I now have a history of desertion, if a team is chosen, I will support them for the remainder of my life. Which based of my current weight and drinking, may not pass 50.
I will be asking for your help to convince me who should be my new teams. Baseball will be first, as I think I can get into the groove by May/June, hopefully cheering my new team into a playoff race come summertime.
I will state the criteria in a seperate thread. Please aid me as I try to turn my sports life around and find some team I can be proud of on and off the field.
Thank you and I look forward to your help.
