Is it a good idea? While it would be a nice little bit of nostalgia for a short time, probably not.
Is it going to happen? Quite possibly...
Why, you ask? Well, let's see. The Nature Boy was recently on the receiving end of a monster beatdown at the hands of Edge and Orton. That means he'll spend some time off TV, then return to a huge face pop and attempt to exact revenge. Of course, he won't be able to get revenge by himself; he'll need a little help...
Enter the news that WWE is going to release a comprehensive Flair/Horsemen DVD in April. We all know that Vince just LOVES plugging books and these retrospective DVDs by having the subject(s) return to TV. (See: Road Warriors, Roddy Piper, Dusty Rhodes, Eric Bischoff, etc.)
So...put 2 and 2 together, and you get 4...Horsemen, that is. Mark my words...it will either happen, or it will at least be strongly considered as the DVD release nears. That release date is quite conveniently in close proximity to WrestleMania. You know damn well that Vince sees dollar signs in the idea of a Horsemen "re-debut" at 'Mania.
Question is, if they do it, who would be in the group? Obviously, Flair and Arn are locks, with Arn functioning as the mentor in a non-wrestling capacity. You could come up with some BS way of moving Benoit to RAW to involve him, but really, SmackDown needs Benoit and Benoit is really beyond the Horsemen concept at this point in his career. Ken Doane (Kenny from the Spirit Squad) strikes me as a good pick for the young up-and-comer, especially given his on-and-off feud with Flair in recent months. But who else would fit? You'd probably round out the group with a tag team or two singles guys who could become a team - perhaps team up 2 solid but underused talents who could use the rub, like Charlie Haas and Rob Conway.
