On the January 1 edition of RAW, the main event will be John Cena vs. Kevin Federline. This was announced several weeks ago, and WWE is obviously hoping for a big rating and mainstream media coverage. Question is...will they get it?
On the one hand, a lot of people might be interested in seeing that waste of oxygen Federline get his ass kicked. But on the other hand, a lot of other people probably don't give a flying fuck. So I think the end result will be a pretty normal rating, not the big spike they're wanting.
So far, it doesn't seem like the mainstream press has given this the attention WWE wants, although Conan O'Brien did mention it on his show last week. "Kevin Federline is reportedly going to take part in a professional wrestling match next month. I never thought I'd say this, but I expected better...of professional wrestling." Funny line, I thought...exactly what a lot of wrestling fans probably think.
It is worth noting that some media outlets have reported that K-Fed's wrestling involvement was one of the "last straws" that led to the Federline/Spears divorce. Apparently Britney wasn't happy with his squared-circle fun. Maybe she was just mad because he wouldn't let her do a run-in so she could flash her snatch to the world on live television...
