This is a question I struggle with in my faith almost everytime I read the Old Testament. The Question ... Is God fair?
Is his judgement right, is everything he says the right path too choose. If he was so merciful whyt would he with one swipe of his hand kill millions of people in a worldwide flood. He knows we are not perfect, he knows that our desire is not to follow him so why would he ever do such things.
That is what I struggle with the most in my faith, and the closer I get to him I understand it.
There was a plane that was going to crash and everyone was going to die. But they had enough time to jump off the plane with a parachute. The pilot told everyone to grab the parachute underneath their seats so they did. He stood by the door and made sure everyone could jump safely. On the way out one man stopped and asked.."Do you have any green parachutes, blue just isnt my color?" the pilot stared blankly and said "No but this parachute will save your life", so he jumped off.
Then a woman came up to the pilot and asked "Can you tell me if it is going to hurt when I hit the ground" The pilot remarked and said, "No, but here is a parachute."
Josiah David Yost was born 2 weeks early Thursday night. I rushed home when I heard Anne was in labor. The entire drive back my heart was racing, palms sweating, and my mind praying. Saying, "God please keep her safe, and please keep my son alive and healthy." As I pulled in she had already been in labor for 6 hrs and she did not have me high on her to do list. Finally it happened and Josiah was born early but healthy.
The next day I thanked God for what he did and then my mind said (yes I believe it was God) "Would I have been any less great if I would have let him die?"
Then it hit me, Everything hit me. We pray to God in the low times when there is no other hope, yet forget him while were enjoying the view. Yet we still say he is unfair.
If Jesus did die, and he did raise from the dead like the Bible says, then we have eternal life by following him..not believing in him but following him. If God decided to sentence all to leprosy tomorrow morning than he would still be fair, because he promised us eternal life. If that is true, than whatever happens on earth is life. God created it and has the right to do whatever he wants to it. But he gave His Son to us, God sent his Son to this earth...could you imagine that? Yet we killed him, Mankind showed God absolutely no mercy. Crucified him because he preached against tradition and spoke truth. The truth always offends, that is how you know it is the truth.
But that is my take on God, It isnt much, because I honestly know nothing but there you have it.

The tragedy of life is not found in failure but complacency. Not in you doing too much, but doing too little. Not in you living above your means, but below your capacity. Never failure but low aim, is life greatest tragedy.
