I would tell you the Indians Z. Here is my reasoning for this:

1. Great front office. Mark Shapiro is one of the best GM's in the league. What he has done with that farm system is incredible and the Indians are set up to be a solid team for years to come. The Indians farm system has scared the Red Sox and Yankees into rebuilding their farm system and not selling off their future.

2. You would not be a frontrunner if you jumped on right now. The Indians are going to be very good this year. Borowski has helped their closing situation. They have one of the best rotations in the league and their offense is explosive. The only question I have is their defense, they made quite a few errors last year.

3. Only the Browns are cursed in Cleveland. They went to two world series and lost to two very good teams. The Braves were clearly the best team the year they won and the Marlins bought an extremely good team. When Shapiro took over the Indians he saw that the Indians had a very weak farm system and that their team was aging. So he had to rebuild and he knew that there was going to be losing seasons. I say this because there was actually a good reason for the Indians sucking the past few years, they wanted to get better for the future. Unlike the Red Sox who invented new ways to lose every year, even if they had the better team. Hell, Shapiro was right on with that Colon trade a few years ago. I believe that was the trade that gave him Sizemore (not sure) and Colon has only had one great year since he left the Tribe.

4. Indians are not afraid to spend money. They will never have the payroll of the Yankees, but they are not nearly as strict as the A's are. They have Martinez, Sizemore and Hafner locked in for awhile, Barfield is also signed, and I think they are working out some deals for the young rotation. Also, they have some studs in the minors.

5. American League. I seem to remember reading that you wished the Phillies had the DH.

6. The radio announcer kicks ass. Know idea what his name is, but you gotta love how much of a homer he is. If it was the same guy they had a year ago, I haven't been able to listen at all this year since I haven't been back in town.

Beany, the Dodgers are just the West Coast version of the Yankees and Red Sox. They spend oodles of money because they can and don't worry about making stupid mistakes. You have a complete dumbass as manager and the Schmidt signing was the worst move they made yet. They overpaid for Pierre who is a great basestealer but was caught stealing more than 20 times last year. Their farm systems don't look all that great, their best prospect is Andy LaRoche and outside of him they have nothing in the top 50. Although I do love Broxton, God that guy is a beast.

Now I am a Red Sox fan to the core, but since you want a team that isn't known for being great I suggest the Indians because in a couple of years this team is going to be a consistent playoff team like they were in the mid-90's. Get on now or else everyone will be labeling you a bandwagon bitch.

Yeah, but that's kinda the plan when you're in your early 20's and single. You go to a party or a bar, while sober you test the water with the hot chicks, if nobody bites, then you get shitfaced enough that the double baggers start looking pretty good and you move in for the kill.
