Burd's hyperbole is spot-on for once. I understand that the NFL's in a tough spot now that its been established that concussions can cause Lou Gehrig's and ritualistic family massacres, but they are going to slowly terraform America's most popular sport into a pussified, unwatchable game of 2 hand touch if they keep this up. Seeing the league stubbornly defend that shitty penalty and propagate the lie that Collie was "defenseless" was infuriating. Goodell can cram that "concern for player safety" up his 18-game-season-pushing ass. There should be NO FUCKING DISCUSSION of a 18 game season if player safety is the priority they claim it is. Any owner caught suggesting a 18 game season would be publicly shamed, roasted by local media, and forced to change Steve Smith's bedpans as penance if player safety is the priority they claim it is. You get the idea.
