The Republican Senators can and still will filibuster and mess up this presidency by blocking any legislation that comes through the pipes.
I'm actually glad to wake up and see Gordon Smith and Norm Coleman will likely keep their seats (Alaska re-electing a convicted felon, however, has etched its place as the most retarded state in the country.) Al Franken and Jeff Merkley would have been entirely weak one-term Senators in all likelihood and moderate Republicans like the two aforementioned didn't get completely shut out. It looks like the Senate will be 55 to 44 with Lieberman as the X factor, but with the two 'Republicans' in Maine and Arlen Specter, President Obama won't have too tough a time breaking filibusters on any bill that isn't too liberal. I'm happy he'll have that party-line check to hedge against some of the agenda of the Pelosi-Reid Congress, two people I still futilely pray the Dem caucus votes out of their leadership positions....

The question today, who will be the next Senators from Illinois and Delaware? Jesse Jackson Jr. and Beau Biden?
