No, I know the fact (Lord knows McCain has told the POW story about a zillion times during the campaign), but war injury or not, it gets fucking old. I'm not ripping on him because he's a vet or because he's disabled. In fact, as you said, I'm always totally respectful and appreciative of our veterans when it comes to the sacrifices they've made for us.

But seriously, the dude is ALWAYS giving the thumbs-up. Enough already. Just like with "my friends," the idea isn't a bad one as long as it's used in moderation. But if you always go around with a thumbs-up saying "my friends" every other sentence, you just come across as a crazy old man desperately trying to win people over because, well, you're a crazy old man, and people should be friendly to crazy old men.

The same can be said for Bush waving all the damn time like a 5-year old at a parade...some waving is to be expected, but seriously, enough. As if you aren't a big enough douche already, the constant waving makes ya look like an even bigger tool...
